My Philosophy
What makes film stand out as an artistic medium is the manipulation of light. The way light falls on a scene changes everything from a storytelling perspective. I work hard to light scenes according to the director and head cinematographer’s vision in order to best tell the story. I work tirelessly to serve the art and create a vision that will stick with the viewer. In order to best do this I focus not only perfecting my craft, but also on creating a positive and encouraging environment that will allow those around me to achieve their best work.
Hey, I’m John
As a senior at the University of Miami, I explored all aspects of filmmaking before finding my passion for lighting. During my time as a student I worked to get on as many productions as possible in order to hone my skills. Since graduating, I have continued to work and hone my abilities in film making and storytelling by continuing to work on as many sets as possible and work full time at a equipment rental house to familiarize myself with a wide variety of professional grade gear.
